Get To Know Grace

We're all goofy goobers yeah goofy goofy goober YEAH!

This is really late. Kind of super dooper, I'm a goofy-goober late... But for all of you who don't know me, I think that we should get to know one another. I should have done this in September for Pete's sake. Guess Pete didn't win this round... Anyways, I've been spending lots of time on Tumblr recently with a few of my close friends when we started playing a game:

Summer English Assignment 101

Since none of y'all want to listen to me rant about shows half as much as you want to hear about my life, I'm going to tell you all a secret... shh... It's confidential...

I've been wanting to use this one all year.

This blog is going change drastically over the summer. I know, I'm as surprised as you are. Due to my admiration for the English language, I happen to be taking Honors English 10 (super-nerd sophomore English) next year. It's basically preparation for the Advanced Placement classes, English Language and English Literature. As I'm set on taking both of these classes, Honors English 10 is practically inevitable.

With Honors English comes an honorable task... I must read a book.
I. Can. Not. Physically. Wait.

If You Know Nothing About Theatre...

I know a lot of you only read this blog because I talk about my own life, a lot, and maybe a bit too often. I enjoy that, it's easy and simple, but that wasn't the intent of this blog. I need to stay true to the theme of this blog, or I'd be a bodacious blogger. I was reminded of this fact by my friend the other day when he complimented the "show" part of "Life As We Show It". Now, what kind of person would I be if I didn't completely geek out about the ten best theatrical shows? Not the Geeky Grace that we both know, GSquared don't roll like that.

Over the past weekend I faced an existential crisis when I was hanging out with my friends: what are the best Broadway shows and how do I state them without having my theatre friends rip me apart when we disagree?

I, uh, oh well I guess... I'll shut up

The answer? Don't say a word. They may sound petty, but a simple discussion over "which show has a better female lead" can turn into World War III with the misuse of a single word.

"The Switch" Review

I feel like I've been talking a lot about my life recently and not enough about the real intention of this blog. The arts. So I'm getting back on track, pulling myself in a new direction as they say in The Addams Family. The other night I watched a fantastic movie, a kind of movie that just has you eating your popcorn (oh wait you're on a detox so you don't have popcorn ha!) and wondering, "How in the world will this end even though I think I know what will happen but hopefully I'm wrong". And thank goodness I was.
The entire movie my friends, this was me... minus the popcorn.

The movie I watched was called "The Switch" and it was released only a few years ago in 2010. Many of you may know the lead roles from Arrested Development and Friends, and yes that is Rachel.

Springtime in a Nutshell

Hehe, puns.
I don't know about you guys, but the beginning of May is always such an interesting transition for me. You go from a blizarding behemoth of snow on your doorstep every single day to this muddy yet excruciatingly warm weather in less than two weeks. Of course this does allow for a few random showers and snow storms on your birthday every year or so, not like it got old five years ago. Thanks Utah. Anyways, the dawn of spring is upon us so we must commence the festivities!

A Day to Remember

Hey, hey look what I saw when I logged in this morning?
Oh yeah, that's right buddy, I hit three thousand views this morning. So as a remembrance of this wonderful day, I shall give you what you have all been wanting and continue to desire even though I promised this blog wasn't all about me: an excerpt of "ma teenage life".
